Turtle Tough Turbidity Analysers in combination with the Turtle Tough Black Series Liquid Analyser is the perfect solution for measuring turbidity online. The turbidity is determined using a nephelometric measurement of scattered light in accordance with ISO 7027 with a measuring range selectable within 0.01 – 1000 NTU, 0.01 – 2000 mg/l. Each probe is equipped with a long-life (up to 20,000 operating hours) IR LED emitter light source and 2 detectors. A side detector to measure scattered light from the sample and a reference detector for monitoring light input. Each light source turned off when not required to conserve energy and extend the life. Light from the emitter passes through a sapphire window and is scattered by the particles in the water. Some light will be refracted to the side detector which is at 90° to the light source. The signal generated is measured and converted to a turbidity value. This configuration allows for the accurate and reliable measurements of online turbidity. Mounting The Turtle Tough Turbidity Analyser can be mounted in two configurations: (1) a dip installation where the sensor is installed into an open channel or tank where sample moves over the sensor and (2) on-line in a non-pressurised flow cell. Easy Calibration Easy and reliable calibration can be carried out using a single-point calibration. There are therefore no need for a ‘zero’, removing the most common source of errors in turbidity meters. The signal generated can be calibrated by either putting the Tough Turbidity Analysers into a known standard or by referencing an alternative measurement method. By using this innovative method of regression analysis, a “zero” calibration is not necessary. Cleaning The sensors are stainless steel and are built to work in the demanding environments. If you want to monitor solids at any point in your waste water treatment plant, this instrument has the self-cleaning sensor and accessories to do it. The sensor probe comes equipped with the capability of having a water jet regularly sweep over the optical lenses keeping them clean. Auto Debubbling Due to the interference of bubbles, several methods are used to remove bubbles including the auto clean function and a debubble flow cell. The Turtle Tough online turbidity meter is suitable for mounting in a debubbling flow cell.
